Important Upcoming Dates
Attendance We would like to remind families to please report student absences using the school’s designated attendance line/extension, 403-777-7430 Ext 0. Messages left on the main school voicemail/email are not checked as frequently throughout the day, which may result in delays in recording your child’s absence.
Please make sure to spell the student’s last name and include the date of the absence in the message.
Alternatively, you can email Mrs. Crane in the main office at: decranemctaggart@cbe.ab.ca.

Grade 9 Farewell
Our Grade 9s will be celebrating their successful Grade 9 year on June 25 at school and at Heritage Park. Here are some reminders about our Farewell event.
Ceremony
The ceremony will be at Wilma Hansen School from 1:30 PM to 3:00PM. Each family only has 4 seats for the in-school ceremony, as spaces are limited. Students are expected to be at school earlier in preparation for the ceremony. The program will include speeches, slide shows, certificates, and awards.
Celebration
The celebration will be at Heritage Park from 6PM to 9:30PM. Students must be dropped off by a parent/guardian at the Wainwright Hotel at Heritage Park. Parents can drive in through Heritage Park to the Wainwright Hotel. Backpacks are not allowed at the venue. Please ensure they are picked up by 9:30PM.
This is a friendly reminder that the $65.00 fee for the Grade 9 Farewell must be paid before the event. As this fee covers the costs associated with the celebration at Heritage Park, students who have not submitted payment by the deadline will unfortunately be unable to attend. If you have any questions or concerns regarding payment, please contact the school office as soon as possible.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to celebrating this special milestone with our Grade 9 students.
School Parking lot is off limits
Please do not enter, stop, or park in the parking lot during the school day.
Given that there are no parking stalls available for public use and given that dropping off students in the parking lot is prohibited (and extremely unsafe), there is no reason for any parent/guests to be driving in the school parking lot, before, during and after school.
Bus zones, Handicap Parking zones and the school parking lot should not be used at anytime for dropping off or picking up students. This is in accordance with CBE policy to ensure the safety of all students.
If you are parking on the other side of the street, please insist that your children use the crosswalks, and not jay walk. Parents and students jaywalking between buses is extremely problematic, and we ask that parents/students obey the law and not jaywalk. Pedestrians should cross the street at corners and crosswalks only.
