Important Upcoming Dates
First View App (Bussing) Please note that all bus routes, pick-up times, and drop-off times are managed entirely by the transportation provider. The school does not have control over route changes, delays, or real-time bus locations. For this reason, we are unable to provide immediate updates when buses run late. To stay informed, it is essential that all families use the FirstView bus tracking app. This app allows you to:
If you have not yet downloaded the FirstView app, please do so as soon as possible. Instructions for creating an account and connecting to your child’s route are available on the app’s website, through the district’s transportation office and just below this paragraph. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to ensure a safe and efficient transportation experience for all students. If you have questions about routes or delays, please contact the transportation provider directly. Thank you for your continued support. How to Get Started:
FirstView also offers multilingual support and a user-friendly help section to assist with any setup or usage questions. Need Help? If you have questions or need help setting up the app, please contact:
Grade 9 Vaccinations The Public Health Nurses will be at the school on Wednesday, February 11 in the am to provide routine immunizations for students who have returned signed consent forms. The consent package includes information on how to provide or refuse consent. Please return the form(s) regardless of your decision as it is important for our records.
Helpful tips: · Ensure your child eats breakfast and packs a snack · Have your child wear short sleeves or dress in layered clothing to allow easy access to the upper arm. All Alberta students in Grade 1-9 must be seen through the school immunization program. Clinic appointments are not allocated for school-age children. Please contact the school nurse for questions around fear and anxiety related to immunizations. For ways to help reduce pain, fear and anxiety, or to help prepare your child for immunizations, please visit Commitment to Comfort | Alberta Health Services If your child is absent on immunization day, they will be immunized the next time Public Health visits the school. ****Please note that COVID and influenza immunizations are not offered through the school immunization program, and only routine immunizations with signed consent forms will be provided.**** Consent forms must be returned to the school office ASAP. If we have not received your consent form by Monday, February 9 your student will not be immunized on the program date. These students will be immunized during the next Public Health visit.
The Alberta Immunization schedule can be found here for your review: Recommended vaccines (alberta.ca)

We appreciate how much you do to help our programs be successful! Report Cards will be visible in PowerSchool through May 29th, 2026. After this date, Semester 1 Report Cards will no longer be available for viewing, downloading or printing. Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For the best access to information, log in through the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App. Attendance It is important that you call the school if your child is going to be absent or arriving late. Please report all absences to the Attendance Line at 403-777-7430 ext.1.
Please make sure to spell the student’s last name and include the date of the absence in the message.
Alternatively, you can email Mrs. Crane in the main office at: decranemctaggart@cbe.ab.ca.

School Parking lot is off limits
Please do not enter, stop, or park in the parking lot during the school day.
Given that there are no parking stalls available for public use and given that dropping off students in the parking lot is prohibited (and extremely unsafe), there is no reason for any parent/guests to be driving in the school parking lot, before, during and after school.
Bus zones, Handicap Parking zones and the school parking lot should not be used at anytime for dropping off or picking up students. This is in accordance with CBE policy to ensure the safety of all students.
If you are parking on the other side of the street, please insist that your children use the crosswalks, and not jay walk. Parents and students jaywalking between buses is extremely problematic, and we ask that parents/students obey the law and not jaywalk. Pedestrians should cross the street at corners and crosswalks only.
School Bus Zone
We would like to remind all parents that the bus loading/unloading zone in front of our school is designated for our school buses only. The bus drivers must be able to bring their bus close to the curb in order to safely drop-off and pick-up our students. This becomes very difficult and unsafe when there are parent vehicles parked in this area. We ask that if you must leave your vehicle parked for a short time, to use the parking areas across the street. We have 7 busses this year, and they require all the space in the bus zone…right up to the crosswalk! Thank you for your help in keeping our bus zone a safe area.
